2014 CEFPI Conference

The 2014 CEFPI conference in Adelaide once again attracted a large contingent of eager and hearty souls from Fulton Trotter Architects. With a theme of Inside Out Upside Down the conference challenged the role of the school in the community by including community health and other traditionally public facilities in school planning. The site tours were thought provoking and encouraged discussions amongst educators and architects alike. With the main venue at the Adelaide Oval many of us felt we were in 7th heaven. The newly revamped oval respects the unique existing heritage with complementary design. In keeping with the spirit brought to last year’s conference in Auckland, Fulton Trotter were again the leaders in the costume stakes at the Mad March in May dinner, thanks to flowing red capes, black masks and accessories. Voted as the CEFPI dress up legends we have begun taking up the challenge and are planning for the conference next year in Canberra.

The conference provided discussion, grounded site tours and above all focused on the need to strive for better spaces for children to learn.
