November 2009
Be free! Sunday starts the month of Movember, a month when you wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and don’t have to shave.
Pluses:
- Can stay in bed for another 3 minutes each morning
- Your wife, partner and kids will stay clear of you. Think about all that spare time you could have to do pleasurable things like walk aimlessly around Bunnings, without a question being asked where you have been.
- A chance to release that inner urge to look like a 70’s movie star complete with tight bell bottom pants, and not feel guilty or ashamed any more
- Support a great cause
It’s not just about raising money but equally promoting awareness of male depression and prostate cancer, so even just growing a caterpillar is doing great things for the cause. Below are some numbers from the Movember Website.
The latest research produced from last years event, provided some extremely encouraging statistics concerning the changing behaviour of Mo Bros. As the statistics below highlight, as a result of Movember, men are beginning to change their attitudes and habits relating to their health.
- 82% of Mo Bros (or approx 102,188) talked about men’s health with friends, family or work colleagues
- 55% of Mo Bros (or approx 68,541) did some of their own research into the causes Movember supports
- 13% (or approx 16,200) sought medical advice
- 38% (or approx 47,355) encouraged someone else to seek medical advice
Fulton Trotter Architects’ have launched their own Mo-Bro team called “The Hairy Trotters”. We’re growing our mo to raise as much doh as possible for this great cause. We’d appreciate any support you may be able to give us.
Please feel free to join our committed team by going to the Movember website and becoming part of our “Hairy Trotters” team or sponsor us via our Mo-Space or via phone 1300 GROW MO (4769 66).
