John XXIII Primary School Library
Stanhope Gardens New South Wales
The library formed the heart of the proposed master plan for the school along with the adjacent administration building.
The library reading and shelving space is a simple volume with a pyramidal roof and acoustic ceilings.
Corner glazing connects this important internal space to the surrounding campus, but
the side walls are solid to allow maximum wall shelving allowing a very open and usable floor area!
The library pyramidal roof formed a recognisable centre to the campus contrasting with the tiled box classroom buildings.
Since changes have occurred in the schools organisational structure this building now houses 4 kindergarten classes.
