John XXIII Primary School Kinder Building

Stanhope Gardens New South Wales

The brief for these classrooms was to provide 2 large open teaching spaces with a
connection between the 2 to allow combining the 2 classes.

Individual toilets are included to allow protect children from hidden airlock spaces
which tend to be areas in which bullying occurs.

The classrooms have abundant material light, high acoustic ceilings and high frequency
fluorescent lighting.

Externally they are sized at a scale similar to neighbouring housing developments in
line with the school planning philosophy of a noninstitutional environment.
