Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre

West Mackay, Queensland

The objective of this project was to integrate building, landscape and public art into a unified structure sensitive to and inspired by the location and function. Flowers and leaves inspired the plan’s form. Concrete and masonry were used for strength with glass and steel for lightweight structures. Local inspired sculptures decorate the gardens with a water collection theme within the design concept.
