Mt Maria College Marcellin Champagnat Building
The Practical Wisdom Buildings consist of a Classroom wing and a Specialist Facilities wing. These wings will provide 23 teaching spaces which are aimed at the 21st Century learner and incorporate a number of non-standard facilities, including break out spaces and extended experimentation areas, that will put Mt Maria at the forefront of 21st Century teaching.
The buildings are laid out along a central spine that will pass through and connect the Heritage Listed Former Home Building (Administration and Library) to the future Middle Years Precinct to the North West.
The Practical Wisdom buildings will act as a frame to the Former Home Building, incorporating brickwork and colonnading which tie them back to the Former Home. At the same time the Practical Wisdom Building will define itself through its horizontal layering, lightweight appearance and incorporation of iconography within the fabric of the buildings.
